Scripture: Genesis 17:7, Galatians 3:26-27

In the final act of covenant we see the character of Christ manifested before us.  Genesis 17:7 says, “And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you.”  Step number eight brings us into a place where we have a right to demand covenant manifestation so that the character of Christ can be seen through our lives.  This is not just an issue of how we act or what we do.  There is much more involved here.  This is the issue of our identity with Christ and the Lord revealing to the world, as a result of what He does, that we really are His.  Galatians 3:26-28 says, “For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”   Verse 29 finishes by saying, “And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”  We need to see God’s hand of protection and blessing and we put a demand on God’s character.  We are asking for an act of character in our behalf.  Show people we are not the tail but we are the head.  Show people that His hand of blessing is there for us and He will carry us through.
