Scripture: Genesis 12:1-3

When God decided to make covenant, He started with Noah.  But the Noahic Covenant is not theocratic and does not pertain to the government of God.  The very first theocratic covenant that establishes the government of God was given in Genesis 12:1-3.  Theocratic means God initiated and does not depend on Abraham doing everything right. God sovereignly promises to provide and protect!  When a covenant is theocratic it expresses the eternal character of the Author.  The New Covenant includes elements of all the previous theocratic covenants upon which it stands.  There are five of those in the Bible.  Every one of them pertains to the rule and government of God.  The five theocratic covenants comprise the foundation for the church today.  Ignorance of that foundation effectively neuters the church.  Recovering our roots is a top priority. Only then do we have a foundation to put a demand on God to put the enemy in the grave where he belongs.  Today’s church often seems more like a weasel than it does a witness.  How did the witness of the church of 100 years ago become today’s weasel?  We very simply emphasized “turn-the-other-cheek” instead of having the salt of God.  Half of Jesus’ message was emphasized, and half was ignored.  The Priestly half was preached, while excluding the Kingly confrontational half.  Because of that we have done a terrible disservice to the church and to an entire generation of believers.  It is time for God to do some real restoration.  Let the God of fire arise!
