Scripture: Exodus 24:12–Exodus 31:18

The last component of the law consisted of the ordinances.  The ordinances governed their religious lives in approaching God.  The commandments governed their personal lives relating to God, judgments governed their social lives with each other and ordinances governed their religious lives as they were to approach God.    It is interesting that in Exodus 25 verses 1-9, God said to Moses, “If you are going to approach Me, approach Me with an offering – an offering that is given willingly from the heart.”  The offering was given for one reason: that a sanctuary could be established so God could dwell among them.  Offerings built buildings.  Tithes were given to people (Levites as a covenant of salt forever).  When Jesus redeems us from the curse, He redeems us from the curse of commandments, judgments and ordinances. Something for which we can be extremely thankful.
