Scripture: I Kings 3:3

I Kings 3:3 tells us that Solomon loved the Lord and walked in the statutes of his father David, except that he sacrificed and burned incense at the high places. Perhaps that exception for Solomon and the issue of his own will rather than yielding to the Lord is what opened the door that eventually led to his destruction. Solomon did not end well. In order to end well we have to choose God’s path and God’s path is often very different from the way the world goes. Consistently choosing compromise through convenience guarantees ending poorly
