Scripture: Psalm 2:3-5

Verses 3-5 describe what God is ready to do. They describe what Jesus has already bought and paid for. “’Let us break their bonds in pieces And cast away their cords from us.’ He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The LORD shall hold them in derision. Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, And distress them in His deep displeasure:” We have a covenantal obligation and right to demand God speak to the lawless in His wrath and distress them in His deep displeasure. To pray anything less is to be completely and totally biblically out of touch with what is necessary in order to save our harvest. As this Psalm unfolds we have an obligation to break the opposition with a rod of iron. Much of the church, however, is too busy turning the other cheek because the church is often nicer than God.
