Scripture: Exodus 14:30-15:7

Does Scripture answer what Isaiah prophesied? Not only does Scripture answer, but history answers. What happened to Jerusalem and Israel is a picture of what God is prophesying coming to our enemies in Exodus 14:30-15:7. They saw the Egyptians dead on the sea shore. Perhaps as we read this passage we should ask ourselves, when God stands up for covenant believers, what happens? Nature responds against the inhabitants of the land. Asking God to intervene to save us means He must destroy the enemy. When government leaders elevate animals above people, they have become Romans 1 nature-worshippers worthy of eternal death. Relief only comes as they are prayed into that place. The covenant people saw the great work that God had done and then they began to rejoice. The glory of the Lord was revealed in the destruction of the enemy. Verse 7 says it best, “You have overthrown those who rose against You; You sent forth Your wrath; It consumed them like stubble.” That is the covenant God has with us. That is what He promises to do again! We have enemies who want to exterminate us. The Scripture is not silent about that issue. The book of Revelation is full of Jesus exterminating the wicked. Billions of them. This is the God we serve. He still answers prayer. He still delivers today!
