Scripture: John 8:53-59

In John 8:53-59 we have another incident where the Father goes to war for the Son.  Jesus, once again, had to speak some things that absolutely enraged people to the point they wanted to kill Him.  In verse 59 we are told, “Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.”  Now this may be the very first cloaking moment in Scripture, but essentially God is going to war for the Son to enable Him to complete His assignment.  It required blinding the target of the enemies’ rage.  It is nice to know there is an anointing that causes people to lose their grip and there is an anointing that specifically blinds them to their target.  They can see everything else, but they cannot see their target.  If I am going to war, I want to know the God that causes people to lose their grip and the God who blinds people specifically to their target.  This is the God we serve.  There are ways that He wars in our behalf and we need to believe for them when needed.  If we are willing to boldly declare what we hear God say the way Jesus did, then we can expect the same protection.
