SATURDAY, JANUARY 14
Scripture: Revelation 2:23-26

The key to using the rod of iron is overcoming. The degree to which we overcome temptation of the flesh is the degree to which we can appropriate covenant promises for advancing God’s eternal purposes. Are we willing to overcome like David overcame? David’s moral failure with Bathsheba and subsequent murder of Uriah the Hittite could have ended his rule but God had given him a covenant of Sure Mercy. David responded admirably to the confrontation of his sin. He truly repented. True repentance is fairly easy to discern. Not repeating the sin is a sign of true repentance! David overcame and did not repeat the sin! David accessed the “redemption” from a platform of restored righteousness! His true heart-response released a cleansing forgiveness. Faith from the heart accessed the rod of iron from a cleansed conscience. May we keep our conscience clean through the Blood of the Lamb and a determination to overcome in every area!
