Scripture: Psalm 2:3-5, Exodus 32:10

Psalm 2:3-5 says, “’Let us break Their bonds in pieces And cast away Their cords from us.’ He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision. Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, And distress them in His deep displeasure:…” Where is the evidence of God holding the wicked in derision? The wicked are determined to break any restraints on their evil. Hollywood is determined to break all biblical restraints to their evil. Politicians are determined to break all biblical restraints to morality. My Bible says that God sits in the heavens and laughs. But the Lord will hold them in derision. Then He shall speak to them. I wonder what happens when God speaks to people in His wrath? I wonder what it looks like if God speaks to Hollywood in His wrath. We do not have to go very far to find out. All we have to do is look at Exodus. In Exodus 32:10, God is speaking to Moses in a state of wrath, which is the Hebrew word aph. He says, “Now therefore, let Me alone, that My wrath may burn hot against them and I may consume them. And I will make of you a great nation.” When God speaks to people in His wrath, they are near toast. So we could say that when God speaks in His wrath, He is ready to aph somebody. In street terminology today, when you “off” somebody, that is the end of their existence. God initiated the concept. Isn’t it interesting that Psalm 2 says when the worldly determine they will throw off all biblical restraint, God responds by aph-ing them! For those who want to off biblical morality, then let the God we serve aph them! That is in Psalm 2. That is the God we serve. He is not playing games. He is real. He is serious. The rod of iron is released when you and I ask for it to save our harvest. The early church prayed and they asked for God to aph people who hindered the gospel. I wonder what kind of results they got…
