Scripture: Ephesians 5:7-13

One of the things love does in verse 13 is that it exposes. Ephesians 5:11-13 states, “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.” We are commanded to expose the unfruitful works of darkness. Then we are told that all things are exposed by the light. Are we walking in the light? Jesus did. Ephesians 5 basically tells us that if we walk in the light, we will expose evil. It is inevitable – it can happen just when we walk into a room. We offend people because of the righteousness we carry. God’s love exposes darkness. It does not overlook it. It does not comfort it, it does not coddle it. It exposes it. Are we there? Are we in that place yet? We have some growing to do!
