TUESDAY, JANUARY 15
Scripture: Matthew 10:12-14,15, Luke 10:1-8

In both Matthew and Luke, Jesus told the Twelve and then the Seventy essentially the same thing. When their word was not received, they were to shake the dust from their feet and make a declaration of judgment. That declaration in Matthew 10:15 was very strong. It says, “Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!” How often do we warn people about the judgment of God? Have we ever warned them? Let’s face it, the answer for our generation is that we rarely warn anyone. We give them a witness about Jesus and then leave it at that. So we are, in fact, not doing what Jesus told us to do. And because we are not warning as Jesus told us to warn, is there any doubt about why there is no fear of God in the land? How much devastation will God have to create before the fear of God returns?
