SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18
Scripture: 2 Chronicles 13:13-15

The battle commences! Jeroboam set an ambush to gain advantage and victory. But Abijah had God’s covenant. So when the men of Abijah initiate a shout and give voice to covenant, God steps on the scene and strikes Jeroboam and all Israel. God answered when Judah prayed. God showed up and victory belonged to Abijah. What made the difference between Abijah and Jeroboam? It was the same thing that made the difference between Saul and David. The difference was covenant. And that brings us to a very simple issue – how do we want to live our lives? Do we want to live in covenant where in crucial moments God intervenes to save us or do we want to battle the world in our own strength? Through God’s wisdom and revelation we should come to realize there is only one choice – living our lives in covenant with God carries the hope of victory! Even in death we win! If we do live our lives in covenant, even our failures are redeemed. Let us choose the righteous path that guarantees that we have covenant access at all times!
