Scripture: 2 Chronicles 7:14-18

2 Chronicles 7:14-17 says, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place. For now I have chosen and sanctified this house, that My name may be there forever; and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually. As for you, if you walk before Me as your father David walked, and do according to all that I have commanded you, and if you keep My statutes and My judgments,…” In 2 Chronicles 7 God is offering Solomon all the blessing of the covenant that David had, if he would be obedient. If adversity comes, God’s people were to come and repent in the temple. The interesting part was verse 18, “…then I will establish the throne of your kingdom, as I covenanted with David your father, saying, ‘You shall not fail to have a man as ruler in Israel.” Jesus is the Covenantal King-Ruler. Where does He rule? He rules from the temple. And where is the temple? It is on the inside of us. When God started covenant with Abraham, he consistently and faithfully, generation by generation, added to that covenant. It is very interesting to watch God deal with the generations covenantally. God is extremely committed to that Blood Covenant. And an important question is, what does that mean to us?
