THURSDAY, DECEMBER 25    MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
Scripture: Acts 12:5-8

Acts 12:5-8 says, “Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church. And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison. Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, ‘Arise quickly!’ And his chains fell off his hands. Then the angel said to him, ‘Gird yourself and tie on your sandals’; and so he did. And he said to him, ‘Put on your garment and follow me.’” Peter was about to die. This angelic visit marked a divine gift. Peter received a “get-out-of-jail-free-card.” The angel had to tell Peter to get dressed. Once Peter did, the command was, “Follow me.” Angels give us freedom when we need it! Do we need freedom from unbiblical and unrighteous policies and leaders? The answer is, absolutely! God judged Herod’s judgment and nullified it! Asking God to nullify a judges’ judgment by angelic intervention is very, very biblical. Psalm 2 warns judges to, “Now therefore, be wise, O kings; Be instructed, you judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, And rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, And you perish in the way, When His wrath is kindled but a little.” Kiss the Son, or perish! Asking God to reward judges according to their works is a very Godly act and would make a great demonstration of justice! May God’s Justice prevail!
