Scripture: Isaiah 9:6-7

Isaiah 9:6-7 says, “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.” The two words we see in Genesis 18:19 are the identical words we see here for judgment/ mish-pawt and justice/sed-a-khan. This prophecy, however, says in addition that Jesus will establish the Kingdom of God and that He will order and establish it with judgment and justice or righteousness. He will establish the way of the Lord and He will give us the Holy Spirit Who will help bring that to pass. Is this really New Testament? It is certainly pointing us in that direction. It goes on to say, from that time forward forever the zeal of the Lord of Hosts will perform this. Have you ever asked God for His zeal? It is coming! Are we ready for it? How long will we allow religion to pedal fear from the Sermon on the Mount through Matthew 7:1,2, “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.” We know we have to qualify but that is why “the way of the Lord” lists righteousness first as a precursor for doing judgment. We all have to stand in the fire we call down! If we choose righteousness, we can pray judgment!
