Scripture: Proverbs 4:20-23

Proverbs 4:20-23 says, “My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.” This passage makes it really clear that when we put it in our hearts, it comes out establishing the issues, to-saw-aw, which means the borders or boundaries of life. The word ‘issues’ is a poor translation. The word ‘boundaries’ is accurate. It is used fifteen times in the book of Joshua. It is used for establishing the borders and boundaries around the promised land, and the promises God gave to each tribe. Joshua did exactly what God said. He put the word in and then out of his life came the authority to win the battles that established the physical borders and boundaries around the promises that God gave to each tribe. God intended this process to work for every single believer. As we put the eternal promises of the Word in our heart, as we memorize it and speak it in our heart, it comes out in authority to call forth or to frame reality around the promise so that we live in the reality of the promise. We actually create a physical border and boundary for that promise to be manifested. That is God’s intent! Are we going to use it? It is up to us!
