Scripture: 2 Samuel 17:14,23

In 2 Samuel 17:14 we are told, “So Absalom and all the men of Israel said, ‘The advice of Hushai the Archite is better than the advice of Ahithophel.’ For the Lord had purposed to defeat the good advice of Ahithophel, to the intent that the Lord might bring disaster on Absalom.” In verse 23 we are told, “Now when Ahithophel saw that his advice was not followed, he saddled a donkey, and arose and went home to his house, to his city. Then he put his household in order, and hanged himself, and died; and he was buried in his father’s tomb.” Standing against the covenant of Sure Mercy was a guaranteed death sentence for anyone who did it. We learn something through this passage. When you and I invoke the covenant of Sure Mercy and walk it out, anyone who chooses to stand against us in that process, may very well end up in the judgment of God. God gave the covenant of Sure Mercy for a reason and that reason was to save. You and I can certainly walk out God’s purpose and His very best with the covenant of Sure Mercy. It is our platform to save cities and nations in the last days.
