Scripture: Genesis 1:1-5

Genesis 5:1-5 says, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.” Proverbs tells us that death and life are in the power of the tongue, and we see that through words, God created the heavens and the earth. He created light out of the darkness. God uses words to create. And because we are made in His image and in His likeness, our words also have creative power. The reason why we must choose carefully what we speak is because our words, like God’s, have creative power. Being Word-confident is crucial. We want to speak life!
