Scripture: 1 Corinthians 12:7,8a

1 Corinthians 12:7,8 says, “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit,…” A “word of wisdom” is ‘A specific guidance in what to do in a certain situation.’ Another definition is ‘seeing life from God’s perspective.’ That is a word is wisdom. The first thing we begin to do is we start seeking God for words of wisdom, ‘God, we need Your wisdom. Show us Your wisdom. You have given us the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has nine different manifestations available to us and one of them is a word of wisdom. So Lord, we ask You for a word of wisdom to be operational in our lives. When we bump into situations where we do not know what to do, let Your word of wisdom become manifest right then. We want to know that we know that we know exactly what You are leading us to do. When we know Your will, we can act with confidence. There will be utter and total victory and Your Kingdom will be established.’ This is how we need to pray concerning a word of wisdom. We have a Helper called the Holy Spirit – and He is in us. By faith we expect these gifts of the Spirit to come out of us so that God’s Kingdom is established. It is the Holy Spirit’s job to establish the Kingdom and He is looking for people to use. If we are available and if we cultivate our hearts in preparation, He will use us. So let’s let Him know we are available!
