Scripture: Isaiah 33:1-4

Isaiah 33:1 says, “Woe to you who plunder, though you have not been plundered; And you who deal treacherously, though they have not dealt treacherously with you! When you cease plundering, You will be plundered; When you make an end of dealing treacherously, They will deal treacherously with you.” The Lord declares judgment on those who plunder but have not been plundered. And He declares judgment on those who deal treacherously, yet no one has dealt treacherously with them. He goes on to declare when they are through plundering, they will be plundered. And when they are through dealing treacherously, people will deal treacherously with them. God will bring back on their own head what they are sowing. And yet for those who have obeyed God, we are told in verses 2-4, “O Lord, be gracious to us; We have waited for You. Be their arm every morning, Our salvation also in the time of trouble. At the noise of the tumult the people shall flee; When You lift Yourself up, the nations shall be scattered; And Your plunder shall be gathered Like the gathering of the caterpillar; As the running to and fro of locusts, He shall run upon them.” The believer who is faithful qualifies for the full measure of God’s blessing in the midst of great treachery in the last days. God’s Word will be the stability of our times. Are we putting the Word in our hearts? That is the promise. His Word will be the stability of our times. Let us do our part and make sure we sow it in our heart where it belongs.
