Scripture: Genesis 18:19

Genesis 18:19 says, “For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the Lord, to do righteousness/tsed-aw-kaw and justice/mish-pawt, that the Lord may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him.” Mish-pawt is the same word we see in Isaiah 28:17, “Also I will make justice/mish-pawt the measuring line and And righteousness/ tsed-aw-kaw the plummet(plumbline); The hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, And the waters will overflow the hiding place.” When God establishes a plumbline in our lives, we become the agents of judgment and salvation everywhere we go. In Genesis 18 Abraham was the agent of salvation and he prayed to postpone God’s judgment until Lot was safe. Abraham carried a plumbline – he was the plumbline of God! He walked with God and the plumbline was established through him. Praying in tongues is about establishing a plumbline for salvation and judgment inside of us.
