Scripture: Jude 17-22, 1 Corinthians 14:14

Jude 20-22 states, “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And on some have compassion, making a distinction…” Is there a definition for praying in the Holy Spirit? We are told to build ourselves up in our most holy faith. If we allow the Bible to define the Bible then we are not trying to inject something we feel or think but instead we are allowing Scripture to define itself. Does God define what praying in the Spirit actually means? 1 Corinthians 14:14 we are told, “For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays…” So the Bible defines praying in the Spirit as praying in tongues. Praying in the Holy Spirit means praying in tongues. God says, do it and it will build us up, and it will empower our lives. The truth of the matter is it will begin to develop within us the character of Christ and that is worth its weight in gold! This is treasure beyond measure!
