Scripture: Exodus 6:9-12
In Exodus 6:9-12, Moses told the people what the price of the covenant would be. The price was three-fold. It would first be sanctification, which meant separation from all that was profane. Second it required washing and making clean, which technically means beating and kneading in cold water. Third, they had to be ready. They were to get established, fixed, secure and determined. Fulfilling all three requirements was quite a process. But it was the process by which they were supposed to prepare to meet with God. I wonder if that process is practiced today? As we pray in tongues in submitting to the preparation process, God’s involvement is insured.
