Scripture: 1 Samuel 7:10-13

1 Samuel 7:10-13 says, “Now as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel. But the Lord thundered with a loud thunder upon the Philistines that day, and so confused them that they were overcome before Israel. And the men of Israel went out of Mizpah and pursued the Philistines, and drove them back as far as below Beth Car. Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, ‘Thus far the Lord has helped us.’ So the Philistines were subdued, and they did not come anymore into the territory of Israel. And the hand of the Lord was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.” Samuel prayed and God thundered against the Philistines. The men of Israel went out of Mizpah and they pursued the Philistines until the Philistines were subdued. Samuel prayed and God’s Hand moved! Why, because Samuel chose to walk in righteousness. Samuel welcomed God’s dominion to him and as a result God’s dominion flowed through him. That is who Samuel was and that is how he walked. Why can’t we walk that way? Answer- we can! The question is, will we? The time is here. The time of the prophetic is at hand. We can walk in this. God’s authority is ready to flow through the church. Let us be prepared and be watchful and vigilant and faithful to seek His face in prayer! Let us be willing to venture into obedient prayers as God leads us there. May powerful prayers arise for God’s Kingdom purposes!
