Scripture: 1 Kings 19:9-14

What is Elijah doing here? Elijah was brooding that he was the only righteous one left and moaning about his plight! How does God treat our excuses? 1 Kings 19:9- says, “And there he went into a cave and spent the night it that place; and behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and He said to him, ‘What are you doing here, Elijah?’ So he said, ‘I have been very zealous for the Lord God of hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life.’” Elijah then discovered that he was not the only one left. Elijah had no idea once he started this process how it would end. When we give ourselves to the Lord to walk out His assignment in the judicial, most of us have no idea how it is going to unfold. Can we be okay with that? When we see the pain and adversity involved through studying other warriors in the Bible, are we willing to walk that process out? Isn’t this amazing! What a price to turn a nation back to God! It cost Elijah everything! And it may well cost us everything! We need to be ready for that!
