FRIDAY, JULY 20
Scripture: Acts 5:15-16, 1 Peter 1:12-15

Acts 5:15-16 states, “So that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them. Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed.” We can glean keys from the experiences of the men who were used mightily in Scripture! Peter is certainly one of those because of the anointing he walked in for healing and judgment. Peter was the only one whose shadow is said to have healed the sick! What can we learn from Peter that might shape this preparational season for us? In 1 Peter 1:12-15 we are given Peter’s best preparational advice, “To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things which angels desire to look into. Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct.” Peter made it clear that the way to prepare for Holy Spirit manifestations is to build a blameless relationship by pursuing holiness – can it be that simple? For Peter it was!
