FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21
Scripture: Luke 8:49-56

Luke shares the account of the resurrection of Jairus’ daughter. Luke 8:49-50 says, “While He was still speaking, someone came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him, ‘Your daughter is dead. Do not trouble the Teacher.’ But when Jesus heard it, He answered him, saying, ‘Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well.’” Jesus was declaring life in the face of death, ‘Do not be afraid; only believe and she will recover.’ What a statement! What do we do in the face of great adversity? Are we afraid to take a stand and trust Him? Do we handle adversity by the leadership of the Holy Spirit? Let us pray, ‘Lord, what is Your will in this situation. What do You want me to say and do? Do I declare resurrection, or do I bless them into the peace of eternity?’ The only way we can navigate such seasons is to allow the Holy Spirit to set the agenda in that event. Once we are in it, we have to continue to seek and hear God for His direction!
