FRIDAY, MAY 10
Scripture: Luke 4:9-13

The Lord brought me to this passage and said, ‘I’m going to retranslate this passage for you. ‘Satan took Jesus to church and preached Him a message complete with scriptures.’ Satan had been a worship leader, He knows the Bible sometimes better than we do! The misuse of Scripture was designed to lure Christ into presumption and out of God’s will. Jesus’ answer should strengthen us. ‘You should not tempt the Lord your God.” As a son and daughter of the King, that answer should be our testimony! Jesus’ existence as the Son of Man was being challenged over the reality of His also being the Son of God. Jesus steadfastly refused each challenge. He knew He could not yield to temptation without penalty. Neither can we! The enemy tried to trap Jesus with His greatest temptation right at church. What do we say to that? Is it possible that in the last days, some of our greatest temptations will come through church? What is taught? What if the (popular trend of the) grace message is a temptation to indulge the flesh? Test all things! Do not believe every spirit! 1 Thessalonians 5:21 says, “Test all things; hold fast to what is good.”
