America was founded by immigrants fleeing religious persecution.  What would their generation advise us as we witness government  moving against the church and those who hold to biblical absolutes?  What scriptures might they quote and what would their advise be?

Perhaps Matthew 5:13 would be at the top of the list.  Matthew 5:13 says, “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.” The real question arising for the church is what are we “good for”?  Are we good for something or good for nothing?  If we are good for nothing, then the battle is over.  Imagine the court taking away Christian liberty without any penalty because our response has been to enable misguided politicians and judges by praying for them!

Jesus is the author of covenant vengeance and has been waiting for the church to stand up and be covenantal by demanding covenant vengeance on those who continue to propagate policy which fills the land with iniquity!  In Luke 18, Jesus encourages us to demand covenant vengeance on our enemies in verses 6-8, “Then the Lord said,‘Hear what the unjust judge said.  And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?  I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?’” Are we exercising the faith of which Jesus spoke?

What is transpiring in government today signals a shift for the church.  An antichrist spirit is moving against the church in a very coordinated assault on everything we hold dear.  The very foundations of our nation are being shaken by liberal politicians. Praying for them enables them to continue the assault.  Praying against them, by the leading of the spirit, is the preferable path. Moving God’s hand in judgment is the only thing that will slow their progress in crippling the nation.  Jesus is the Judge of all the Earth, and He knows how to war!  Invite the Warrior Judge as David did.  It is time to pray the Davidic Psalms against those intent on silencing the church.  As hate crimes legislation passes, and elevates homosexuality into a protected status, churches cannot lawfully refuse to join gay couples in matrimony without devastating penalty.  If we decide to follow the Word, we must eitherdiscriminate against them or risk denying Christ!  God-initiated prayers must rise in this hour to preserve the freedom of religion our forefathers bled and died for!

Davidic Psalm 52 is appropriate to declare over every politician who votes for, supports or signs the hate-crime legislation into law.  It says, “Why do you boast in evil,” _________________  “ mighty man? The goodness of God endures continually. Your tongue devises destruction, Like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. You love evil more than good, Lying rather than speaking righteousness.  Selah  You love all devouring words, You deceitful tongue. God shall likewise destroy you forever; He shall take you away, and pluck you out of your dwelling place, And uproot you from the land of the living.  Selah. The righteous also shall see and fear, And shall laugh at him, saying, ‘Here is the man who did not make God his strength, But trusted in the abundance of his riches,  And strengthened himself in his wickedness.’ But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God;  I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever. I will praise You forever, Because You have done it; And in the presence of Your saints I will wait on Your name, for it is good.” Place the politicians name in the blank space and invoke this Psalm covenantally as you pray over them!  Let God arise and His enemies be scattered!
