Scripture: 2 Samuel 23:1-3

2 Samuel 23:1-3 states, “Now these are the last words of David. Thus says David the son of Jesse; Thus says the man raised up on high, The anointed of the God of Jacob, And the sweet psalmist of Israel: ‘The Spirit of the Lord spoke by me, And His word was on my tongue. The God of Israel said, The Rock of Israel spoke to me: “He who rules over men must be just, Ruling in the fear of God.”’” It is obvious that David reveals God’s heart for justice expressed in the prayers of the Psalms. The Psalms record Holy Spirit prayers for closing doors, for opening doors, for using the key to death and for using the key to hell. The Psalms have an appropriate prayer for everything you or I are going to face. And there’s no way we can reflect a heart like David’s if we are not willing to pray the Holy Spirit-offered prayers that are recorded in the Psalms. Perhaps we have rampant evil right now because the church has not been taught that using these keys is our responsibility! The key of David is available and it needs to be used in prayer. The Holy Spirit will lead us to an appropriate Psalm to pray if we ask Him. This is not rocket science….it is simple covenantal truth. We either have a heart like Saul and refuse or we have a heart like David and do it! Which heart do we have? What we pray reveals our heart!
