Scripture: 2 Thessalonians 2:3,4

The issue of overcoming the spirit of mammon is very clear when we look at 2 Thessalonians 2:3.4 which states, “Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed the son of perdition. Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshipped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” It is obvious that satan has one goal. He has to prove that he is God and the only way that he can do it is by gaining worship from man. The reason why we cannot serve God and mammon is an issue of worship. When we overcome the spirit of mammon we are actually yielding worship to God. When we submit to it, then satan takes that as worship and it is a personal affront to the Lord Jesus Christ and everything He bought and paid for. We would trust that some of our leaders who are building their own ‘Burger-King’ franchise networks could get that revelation before they completely and totally corrupt the church and have to face the key of death or hell. This is one area where God is serious. And it is one where He has promised to cut the evildoers in half.
