Scripture: Isaiah 60:1-5
Isaiah was a great prophet and he saw the end-time church in chapter 60 and 61. Chapter 60 paints a bit of a different picture than what most believers are prepared to accept as their lot in life for the last days. Isaiah 60:1-5 says, “Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the LORD will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising. ‘ Lift up your eyes all around, and see: They all gather together, they come to you; Your sons shall come from afar, And your daughters shall be nursed at your side. Then you shall see and become radiant, And your heart shall swell with joy; Because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, The wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you.” Deep darkness is certainly covering the earth. Has God arisen over us? Is His glory seen? Are the gentiles coming or are they fleeing? Are kings coming or are they fleeing? Why would people and kings come to the church? It seems there is a whole judicial element that is missing in the church that the prophets saw. In Samuel’s day, the people came to him because of the destruction wrought by their enemies. When Samuel prayed, God began killing the Philistines. It was Samuel who hacked Agag into pieces to obey God’s directive after Saul failed in his Kingly duty. Until the church can stand in this anointing of a King, they are not ready for persecution!
