Scripture: Luke 16:4-7

Luke 16:4-7 says, “’I have resolved what to do, that when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses. ‘So he called every one of his master’s debtors to him, and said to the first, ‘How much do you owe my master?’ And he said, ‘A hundred measures of oil.’ So he said to him, ‘Take your bill, and sit down quickly and write fifty.’ Then he said to another, ‘And how much do you owe?’ So he said, ‘A hundred measures of wheat.’ And he said to him, ‘Take your bill, and write eighty.’” Here we have the steward doing exactly what he wants to do with what he has. He does not care that it is dishonest. He does not care that it is manipulative. It accomplishes his purpose of guaranteeing his pipeline of provision. It is complete unrighteousness but he yields to it. Here we have pros-koo-neh-o worship of satan by an individual with his choices. This steward does the very thing Jesus refuses to do. Will we model this steward or will we model the Lord Jesus Christ? Who controls our money?
