Scripture: Acts 2:1-4
In Acts 2:1-4 we are told, “When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” When the Holy Spirit came in Acts 2, it should not be a surprise that a rushing, mighty wind filled the house where they were sitting. We should be asking ourselves why did God also choose to release divided tongues of fire that sat upon each of them. There was not a person who received the Holy Spirit who didn’t experience the wind, pray in another language and experience the fire. When we accept the empowerment that God has made available, we have to understand that we carry a judicial fire that God will use if we will ask Him. The only way the King can rule, at times when facing a demonized, determined enemy is when the church brings the fire. And God seems to be waiting on us to pray that fire into existence. Isn’t it time? The candidates are obvious.
