Scripture: 1 Samuel 12:1-3

1 Samuel 12:1-3 says, “Now Samuel said to all Israel: ‘Indeed I have heeded your voice in all that you said to me, and have made a king over you. And now here is the king, walking before you; and I am old and grayheaded, and look, my sons are with you. I have walked before you from my childhood to this day. Here I am. Witness against me before the LORD and before His anointed: Whose ox have I taken, or whose donkey have I taken, or whom have I cheated? Whom have I oppressed, or from whose hand have I received any bribe with which to blind my eyes? I will restore it to you.’” Samuel prayed and dramatic things happened. The question we ask ourselves is, what is the difference between Samuel’s priesthood and Eli’s? The answer has to be in the School of the Spirit that each graduated from. Samuel was honest. He did not take advantage of anybody. What did Samuel experience that was so offensive to him that he made a choice never to violate financial integrity? Samuel watched Eli and his sons! When Samuel prayed, God intervened and even leaders of cities came to find out if he was coming in peace. How would we like to see that level of the prophetic restored to the church? Following Samuel and Paul’s pattern may well be a key!
