Scripture: 1 Samuel 8:19,20
If there were ever two verses that were discouraging, it is these two. They say, “Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, ‘No, but we will have a king over us, that we also may be like all the nations, and that our king may judge us and go out before us and fight our battles.’” Even after the people were warned, they still refused to obey the voice of Samuel who was speaking for the Lord. They said, “No, we want to be like all the other nations that our king may judge us and go out before us and fight our battles.” So God gave them a king – He gave them Saul. When government confiscates half of what we make, ’Saul’ is alive and well. I live in a state where ‘Saul’ has legislated that homosexuality be introduced to children in the youngest grades. Changes in state curriculums have made this a reality. What kind of creative miracle would you pray over the politicians who enacted that law? For those having trouble envisioning what to pray, read Romans 1:32. It is pregnant with what is appropriate for personal prayer.
