Scripture: Revelation 1:5,6

Revelation 1:5,6 says, “…and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” It is obvious that Jesus has an expectation for every single one (each) of us that name His name. That expectation is that we are to live, act, function and operate as if we are both Kings and Priests. That means just as police officers enforce the law, Christians should enforce covenant! This was the original offer, in Exodus 19, to the people of Israel – a Kingdom of King/Priests and Priest/Kings. We are to combine forgiveness and justice. We are to be just as proficient in justice as we are with forgiveness. Samuel had no problem praying fire, thunder and lightning. Peter had no problem proclaiming death. Paul had no problem blinding an enemy and Jesus in Revelation has no problem terminating resistance, even when it numbers one third and one fourth of the earth’s population! What is our problem?
