Scripture: John 2:13-17

John 2:13-17 states, “Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. And He found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers doing business. When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers’ money and overturned the tables. And He said to those who sold doves, ‘Take these things away! Do not make My Father’s house a house of merchandise!’ Then His disciples remembered that it was written, ‘Zeal for Your house has eaten Me up.’” Jesus did not turn the other cheek. Is He in sin or is He following the Spirit? He is most definitely following the Spirit. Jesus is following the Spirit and is cleaning house in the temple. Love does that. Love will confront evil to protect the ones we care for. Do we care for our harvest? Jesus cleaned house in the temple. He drove them all out. He poured out the changer’s money, overturned the tables , even wielded a whip. Is this love? It is love in action! Love in action saved people from robbers. Will love act today on the robbers of the people?
