Scripture: Ephesians 4:14-16

Ephesians 4:14-16 states, “…that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.” Not only are we to speak the truth in love, but we are to demonstrate that truth. Demonstrating that truth, in itself, causes growth of the Body in love. How can the Body of Christ grow into maturity unless they see the full demonstration of each piece of God’s Heart? If all the church ever sees is the “turn-the-other-cheek” nature of the evangelist and the forbearing nature of the pastor, we will never have a real fear of God! There are three other distinctive pieces which contribute to God’s fullness. The effectiveness of our spiritual walk is often as powerless as castrated calves. The Greek word tel-i-os means to grow to where we can shoulder our destiny. Have we grown to where we can shoulder our destiny? Can we fully demonstrate Jesus, like the early church did? If we can, where is the termination of the ‘Herods’ in our lives? Where is the blindness as that of an ‘Elymas’?
