Scripture: Matthew 10:24-28

In Matthew 10:24-28, Jesus said, “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of his household! Therefore do not fear them. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known. ‘Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops. And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.’” Jesus did give some boundaries to the Twelve. He said, “You have to preach what you hear. And what I speak to you in the dark, you have to shout from the housetops.” He said not to fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Jesus was telling them they walked with a God who is able to kill in two dimensions – physically and spiritually. He can, He will, He does and He is available for those who are willing to walk with Him. It is obvious that the witnesses of Revelation 11 find this God and walk with Him everywhere they go. What if those ‘witnesses’ represent believers in the last days? If the witnesses represent believing saints, then part of the harvest of nations and the grafting in of the Jewish people is the demonstration of the judicial Christ. If that is true, then we have some growing to do. Because we face a formidable enemy, it does not feel as if we should allow more time to pass before we grow up into this Christ. There are many who will meet the Ultimate Judicial Master while they are walking on earth because they are defiling the land with iniquity. When fullness arises, their judgment will be released. Will we be there in such a season? It certainly seems like preparation is in order!
