THURSDAY, AUGUST 15
Scripture: I Samuel 8:19-20

Verses 19-20 state, “Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, ‘No, but we will have a king over us, that we also may be like all the nations, and that our king may judge us and go in and out before us and fight our battles.’” Not only did kings judge but they made a determination when it was time to fight and go to war. So the kings were the warriors in Israel. They were to train and grow up an army. When we grow into the Kingly anointing, we impart the spirit for war. Kings judge and war while priests pray for. Jesus made us both, but He made us kings first and made us priests second. Kings judge and war while priests pray for people. As a King, we have to prepare for a spiritual battle, but as a Priest, we heal the wounded. Only God grows these opposing realities in His people!
