Scripture: I Corinthians 15:54-57

Just how important was the matter of taking justice to victory for Jesus? The answer to that is in the Greek word for victory which is the word nee-kos. Nee-kos means to utterly and totally vanquish. It only appears a handful of times in the New Testament and I Corinthians 15:54-57 has the most. We are told, “So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written; ‘Death is swallowed up in victory.’ “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades where is your victory?” The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law, But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” The utter, complete vanquishing of the enemy comes through the Koo-ree-os, Kris-tos. That means the Kingly, Judicial side of the Savior. If we do not get to know the Kingly, Judicial side of the Savior we forfeit the victory. It is simple, straightforward and it is truth! The question is, will we get to know Him well!
