Scripture: 1 Samuel 15:22,23

1 Samuel 15:22,23 says, “Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He also has rejected you from being king.” Saul’s refusal to execute covenantal justice cost him his office as king. Is it possible that a failure to execute God’s justice will cost us a harvest of cities and nations? It certainly is! There is no doubt about it. A failure to obey is always costly. When Herod committed Peter to the soldiers, the soldiers bore the penalty of losing Peter. Every single one of them lost his life. They were responsible for guarding him. Are we responsible for our nation? By failing to pray judicially, we allow demonized leaders to undermine and destroy our national harvest field and become like the soldiers who lost Peter! Religious tradition can lose a harvest and exact an eternal penalty!
