Scripture: James 5:4-6

Verses 4-6 state, “Indeed the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out; and the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth. You have lived on the earth in pleasure and luxury; you have fattened your hearts as in a day of slaughter. You have condemned, you have murdered the just; he does not resist/anth-his-tay-mee you.” These four verses point us to the subject of fullness. There is a moment where the fullness of hoarding reaches the God of War. When it says, “the Lord of Sabaoth,” it means the God of War. There is a point where there is so much hoarding of resources, not only in the church, but outside of it, that God says, “You have filled the cup of hoarding with iniquity and now, My judgment will be unrestrained!” And that judgment is clear. The judgment is, the hoarding becomes a witness against the people who do it and it eats their flesh like fire. All we have to do is utter the words – all we have to do is hear the Spirit’s direction, and then pray it! The Greek phrase, pha-ge-tai tas sar-kos hu-mon hos pur translated “eat your flesh like fire,” pictures a horrible, painful death! We have yet to see the Hand of God in this dimension. But James 5:4-6 prophesies a season of fullness of iniquity over hoarding resources. These are stunning verses when we look at what they mean. That season has to be rapidly approaching. When ministers cry out for the money they need to harvest the nations, and it is not given because it is hoarded in individual’s bank accounts, it grieves the Heart of God. And that grief pours out in a season of fullness. And when that happens, we will see the unrestrained judicial Hand of God. My sense is that we are very, very close to that season. I believe hoarding goes well beyond saving for retirement or accumulating beyond what one needs. Only the Holy Spirit can make the application. And rest assured, He will! How can any man define rich? Trust the Holy Spirit to define rich and the level of hoarding necessary to eat one’s flesh like fire. God will because He fulfills His Word! Warren Buffet, beware!
