Scripture: Genesis 18:16-18

Genesis 18:16-18 says, “Then the men rose from there and looked toward Sodom, and Abraham went with them to send them on the way. And the Lord said, ‘Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing, since Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?’” We find revealed in this passage, God’s purpose for Abraham as outlined in the choice to make a covenant and establish him as the father of all them that believe. God said, ‘I will not hide from Abraham what I am doing. Abraham is My agent in the earth and I am going to share with him My purposes and plans.’ We can qualify for this! That means all who participate in God’s covenant as children of Abraham are invited to walk with Him in intimacy. If we are interested, we can find out what He is planning and help shape those manifestations in the earth. Just as Abraham shaped the judgments on Sodom and Gomorrah by extracting the righteous, so we can participate in God’s plans. There are six specific things revealed in God’s choice of Abraham that are important to each of us as we walk with God today. The question is, will we embrace the fullness of God’s purpose for covenant people, as revealed in Abraham. If we say yes, then we can truly participate in the promises that are bought and paid for through the Blood of Christ.
