April 2015 Outcry

There is a casualty in the land today and that consists of leaders who fail to tell the truth. This casualty is secondarily tragic because a large part of the populace often do not hold leaders accountable when caught in blatant lies. Lying leaders constitute a dangerous threat according to John 8:43,44 which says, “Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.” Leaders who lie endanger everyone! Do we, as a nation, no longer expect our leaders to uphold a standard of truth?

God, on the other hand, according to Deuteronomy 32:4 is described as, “He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, A God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He.” We need leaders who have the testimony of 1 Kings 17:24, “Then the woman said to Elijah, ‘Now by this I know that you are a man of God, and that the word of the LORD in your mouth is the truth.’” Psalm 25:10 proclaims, “All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth, To such as keep His covenant and His testimonies.”

Do we no longer view a commitment to truth as a mark of a noble, honorable leader? Proverbs 14:33-34 says, “Wisdom rests in the heart of him who has understanding, But what is in the heart of fools is made known. Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people.”

Let us unite to pray that God cut off all leaders who intentionally deceive, misrepresent and lie to advance their own purposes and hide their evil deeds! Let us pray He gives us men and women that live lives of exemplary truth and integrity!
