Scripture: Psalm 143:12

Psalm 143 is King David’s intercession upon being forced to leave Jerusalem after learning that the hearts of Israel were with Absalom. He ended this twelve-verse prayer with, “In Your mercy cut off my enemies, And destroy all those who afflict my soul; For I am Your servant.” David invoked the covenant of Sure Mercy over Jerusalem and the nation of Israel. It is an example to us of what God will do if we invoke the same covenant over our nation today. God killed Absalom, not with one spear but with three! What will God do for us? Will He remove offending senators? Will He remove offensive Supreme Court justices? Will He remove a president? God will do what is necessary to save the nation. Our job is to pray it and God’s job is to institute the judgment of it. If you and I pray it, get ready for the judgment of it because it will come. No one can stop God once we invoke the covenant of Sure Mercy. It guarantees His intervention. Be patient in prayer and remember, the judgment comes in God’s time and in His way.
