Scripture: 1 Samuel 12:1-3

In 1 Samuel 12:1-3 we are told, “Now Samuel said to all Israel: ‘Indeed I have heeded your voice in all that you said to me, and have made a king over you. And now here is the king, walking before you; and I am old and grayheaded, and look, my sons are with you. I have walked before you from my childhood to this day. Here I am. Witness against me before the Lord and before His anointed: Whose ox have I taken, or whose donkey have I taken, or whom have I cheated? Whom have I oppressed, or from whose hand have I received any bribe with which to blind my eyes? I will restore it to you.’” Samuel said, ‘Look, now you have the king that I told you was a mistake. But you wanted him, so you have him. You have known me since childhood and you know I have not taken, I have not hurt.’ That sounds very much like Moses in Numbers 16. Samuel is saying God taught him what he had to do in order to bring victory to the nation. He had to use his faith to walk in integrity. He used his faith and walked in integrity all his days. And all his days, God gave victory to Israel. Where is the Samuel priesthood today? It is here, and many of us are walking in it. But we do not see it in a number of church leadership today. As we approach the end-times we know the church has to have the platform of integrity and foundation of faith to live victoriously and bring in the harvest. We will see God’s Hand move to clean ‘Elis’ out of the church, so let us get our own hearts and lives prepared to look like Samuel.
