Scripture: Joel 2:23-25
In Joel 2:23-25, we see the promise of the double anointing for the end-times but we also see the preparation that it takes for the end-times and why our faith has to carry us through that preparation period. There are four layers of locusts that God sends. The locusts represent adversity that has to eat away all ‘flesh’ so people can wholly give themselves to God for His purposes. We begin to understand that in the preparation of people for ministry, God chooses their adversity. It sometimes comes in four different layers. Some of the adversity is devastating, but one thing is sure – all four layers of locusts chew away everything of the flesh until there is absolutely nothing left. Only then can we, by faith, respond to the Lord and participate in the fullness He has for us because He has gotten ‘us’ out of the way. We have to use our faith on our flesh to obey God and eventually what we do will contribute to the great end-time harvest, even if we do not get to see it in our lifetime.
