Scripture: John 16:13

Part of what is available through tongues is discerning the signs of the times. John 16:13 states, “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.” The Holy Spirit told Paul this when his race was nearly over. Paul said he knew what time it was, he had been obedient and had run his race. He was ready for his heavenly departure and wrote that he was going to continue praying in the Spirit every day because that keeps the door open to heaven. The apostles founded the church on their relationship with Christ and the Holy Spirit’s revelation of Christ’s anointed Words. If we follow their pattern, we will succeed in finishing our race as they did!
